Anne Marie Jackson

July 26, 1938 — September 22, 2016

Anne Marie Napolitano Jackson, age seventy-eight, of Columbia, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2016, at her residence.

Anne was born on July 26, 1938, in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, to Nicholas Napolitano and Catherine Pingerelli Napolitano. Just before her twentieth birthday she married her love of fourty-two years, Richard G. Jackson and they were together until he passed on September 7, 2000. She was a communicant of St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church in Columbia. Anne worked hard her entire life and was a retiree of Nu-Kote. Most recently she shared her love of her Italian heritage as head chef of Napoli’s Restaurant in Columbia. But these are just a few examples of her strong work ethic which began early in life, when she pursued work opportunities in order to assist her family. Her kids will always remember how she instilled this same great work ethic within them.

She also shared with them a sense of fun: enjoying camping with her family, crocheting, beadwork, and cooking. Anne was always resourceful, all of her skills being self-taught and perfected. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and reading novels and cookbooks from her travels. She was very philanthropic, donating to numerous causes benefiting children and veterans, and also co-founded the annual Maury County Policeman of the Year Awards Dinner with her husband, Richard, which still continues to this day. But her greatest pleasure of all was inspiring happiness in others, making her heart as beautiful as her smile!

Anne is survived by her children: Ken (Marsha) Jackson of Bon Aqua, Mike Jackson, Theresa Swartwood, and Bobby Jackson all of Columbia, and Sharon (Tony) Chappell of Spring Hill; grandchildren: Kristine, Paul, and Michelle Jackson of Endicott, NY, Nicole Anne, Katherine, and Tara Swartwood of Columbia and Nathan Chappell of Spring Hill; her brothers, Nicholas (Patricia) and Louis (Gloria) Napolitano, both of Florida; her sisters, Lena (David) Wilcox and Louise (Lou) Barba, both of New York; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and her best friend: Taco. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her granddaughter: Chelsea Chappell.

The family will visit with friends on Monday, September 26 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. A Funeral Mass for Mrs. Jackson will be led by Father Davis Chackaleckel at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Columbia on Tuesday, September 27 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow in the Garden of Luke at Polk Memorial Gardens.

Kenneth Jackson, Mike Jackson, Robert Jackson, Tony Chappell, Nathan Chappell and Robert Swartwood will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the O. L. Davis Volunteer Fire Department’s Women’s Auxiliary and the Knights of the Columbus.
