Bobby Allen Haywood

Bobby Allen Haywood, age 81, of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Life Care Center of Columbia.

Bobby was born to the late Harry A. Haywood and Lillian Sims Haywood on November 7, 1932 in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee. Bobby worked as an ironworker and after forty years retired from Union Local 397 in Tampa, Florida. Bobby loved aviation and enjoyed testing the limits of his aircraft. He restored a 1946 Commonwealth Skyranger aircraft from scratch. Bobby was a member of Mt. Joy Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

The family will visit with friends on Saturday, July 19 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee. Funeral service will be Sunday, July 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee with Dwight Lyles officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.

Bobby is survived by his son David (Ginger) Haywood of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee; daughter Janet (Bill) Richards of Spring Hill, Tennessee; grandsons David (Jennifer) Haywood Jr., Nicholas Richards, and Brandon Richards; great-grandsons Brock Haywood and Jake Haywood; brother Leon (Opal) Haywood; sister Dean Glock; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bobby is preceded in death by his wife Betty Estes Haywood; son Danny M. Haywood; and his parents Harry A. Haywood and Lillian Haywood.

Pallbearers will be David Haywood Jr., Nicholas Richards, Brandon Richards, James Estes, Donnie Haywood, and Kenny Norman.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Members of Iron Workers of Local 397 of Tampa, Florida, Odell Haywood, and John Rainney.
