Clem Boatright Jr.

Clem Boatright Jr. was born on March 17, 1933 to the late Clem Boatright Sr. and Frances Boatright in Newark, New Jersey. He departed this life on Thursday, July 17, 2014.
A memorial service to celebrate Clem’s life will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee.
In his twenties, Clem joined the New Jersey National Guard. Afterwards, he studied, became, and worked as a mechanical electrician for many years. In 1958, he joined the Trinity Temple Seventh-Day Adventist Church, under Pastor Leon Cox in Newark, New Jersey. Clem worked very actively in the church, as in the old days, he was a Lay Activities Leader, Pathfinder Leader, and a guest circuit preacher. After moving to the state of Alabama, Clem decided to become and worked as a Natural Pathic Specialist for years until his illness slowed him down. Clem and Clara were married on November 22, 2001. As a team, they traveled around the country helping and giving comfort to those with a variety of illnesses.
Clem is preceded in death by his father Clem Boatright Sr. and his mother Frances Bond Boatright; brothers James, Norman, and Roscoe; sister Marva; and sons Michael and Robert.
Cherishing Clem’s memory is his loving wife Clara; son Craig Boatright of Huntsville, Alabama; daughters Jonice Banks of Huntsville, Alabama, Demetria (Van) Collier of Athens, Alabama, and Ada Shelborne of Hohenwald, Tennessee; two sisters Lucille Smith of North, North Carolina and Pauline Phillips of Dothan, Alabama; one brother Eugene (Pauline) Boatright of Newark, New Jersey; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
“For I am persuaded, that neither death nor life, nor angles, nor principalities, nor powers nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus of Lord.” - Romans 8:38-39
Clem’s favorite saying was “Be prayerful and careful.”
