Gary Winford Maxedon

January 30, 1952 — January 23, 2015

Gary Winford Maxedon, age 62, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2015 at his residence in Columbia, Tennessee.

Gary was born on January 30, 1952 to the late Ray Winford Maxedon and Betty Sue Fite Maxedon in Madisonville, Kentucky. Gary married Belinda Sue Barocio on January 1, 1978. Gary was an owner/operator for R.R. Sales along with his wife Belinda. He was also a manufacturer sales representative for several companies including Texas Fluorescents in Dallas, Texas, Xtra Lite Lighting, LLC in Meridian, Mississippi, and Pac Lights, LLC in Chino Hill, California. He was a lifelong member of Graymere Church of Christ. Gary was a man of many talents including his salesmanship and his ability to fully restore cars. He was described by friends as exuding enthusiasm in all aspects of his life. His dream was to fly. In order to achieve his dreams, last April, Gary bought an airplane and had completed his courses with the help of longtime friend Troy Petteway. He was only a few steps away from receiving his pilot’s license. He loved everything that had a motor in it. Gary was in the process of restoring his 1967 Nova, and he enjoyed riding his Harley. He loved being involved in his grandchildren’s lives and thoroughly enjoyed his beloved title of “Papa.” While caring for his mother, he enjoyed visiting other residents of Morning Pointe Assisted Living.
