Henry F. Teeples

December 15, 1929 — September 12, 2014

Mr. Henry F. Teeples, age 84, of Columbia passed away on Friday, September 12, 2014 after an extended illness at Life Care Center of Columbia.

Henry was born on December 15, 1929 to the late Floyd Teeples and Ella Mae Tatum Teeples in Athens, Alabama. On March 15, 1952 he married Robbie Elizabeth Pope and they were happily married and served the Lord together until she passed away on February 18, 2005. He worked as a mechanic and machinist at Columbia Machine Works, retiring from there after over thirty of dedicated service.

Dedication was a theme in Henry’s life. He was dedicated to his wife until her passing. He was a dedicated family man, always making time for his children. He took them to Disney every year and loved their vacation times together. He also loved camping. He flew model airplanes with his son, Darral and enjoyed CB radios.

Mr. Teeples was also dedicated to his Lord and his church family the Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ. He was one of the founding members of the church and was “there every time the doors were open”. He loved using his talents and gifts for the Lord and one of those was a love for music. He used that particular talent in playing bass guitar in church for many years.

Mr. Teeples is survived by his loving children: Darral (Janice) Teeples and Judy Green all of Columbia; grandchildren: Myra Renee Teeples Wilkinson of Macon, MS, Samuel Darral (Sarah) Teeples of Richland, MS; Miranda Rogers Sullivan of Mt. Pleasant, TN and Michael Stevens Rogers of Mt. Pleasant, TN. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife: Robbie Elizabeth Pope Teeples; his beloved daughter: Rita Elizabeth Teeples Rogers; and his brother: Adell Teeples.

Funeral services for Mr. Teeples will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee with Bro. Henry Mobley officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends from 11:00 a.m. until time for the service to start at 2:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.
