Irene "Billie" Jennings

Mrs. Irene “Billie” Jennings, age 84, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at her residence in Columbia, Tennessee.
Irene was born on March 10, 1932, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee to the late Otis A. Smith and Minnie Pearl Powell Smith and was one of eleven children. On December 2, 1950 she married Odell Jennings and they built a life and served the Lord together until his passing on December 8, 2010. She deeply loved her family and her Lord, serving Him as a member of Highland Park Baptist Church.
She was a hard working lady who worked at Inter-City Products in Lewisburg for a number of years. She later became a real estate agent with Century 21 Realty. Irene was an avid traveler, having been to all but four states in the US. She also loved to crochet, knit and garden.
Irene is survived by her son: Daniel Jennings of Columbia; granddaughters: Jessica Bell (Eddie) Pruett of Medina, Tennessee and Deanna Potts of Columbia; great-grandchildren: Alex Pruett, Clay Pruett, Drew (Steely) Collins and Jade (Chad) Avilef; numerous great great-grandchildren; and brothers: John “Bud” William Smith of Florida and Bobby Wayne Smith of Mississippi. In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by her daughter: Janis Jennings Goff; grandson: Benjamin Lee Goff; daughter-in-law: Norma Jean Jennings; siblings: Lonnie Smith, Loyd Smith, Louie Smith, Elmer Smith, Jewell Hull, Velma “Pete” Hull, Annie Hull and Lula “Johnnie” Gay.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jennings will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Jeff Kane officiating. Interment will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. also at Williams Funeral Home.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be past and present members of Highland Park Baptist Church and the staff of Caris Health Care.
