John Kevin Montgomery, age 55, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia.
Kevin was born on May 23, 1961 in Columbia, Tennessee to James Vance Montgomery and Ollie Williams Montgomery. He was a truck driver prior to his disability. He loved spelunking, playing musical instruments, bonfires and most of all his family and friends. He was happy no matter what, whenever he was in the midst of his most cherished people – even in his final days. Many hearts are broken.
Mr. Montgomery is survived by his mother: Ollie Williams Montgomery; daughter: Cassandra (Clint) Green of Columbia; granddaughter: Kalie Ziegler; siblings: Richard (Mary) Montgomery, Brenda Montgomery and Anita (Randy) Huggins; very special friend who was like a sister to him: Kelly (Jimmy) Mullis; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his father: James Vance Montgomery; and brother: James Edwin Montgomery. The family would like to give a special thank you to all Kevin’s caregivers, nurses and doctors on the 3rd floor at Maury Regional Medical Center.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or the Maury County Animal Shelter.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
