Kathleen Bassham Johnson a long time residence of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at her residence.

Kathleen was born on September 26, 1925 in Mt. Pleasant, TN to the late Chancey Bell and Lena Bassham. Ms. Johnson was a member of the Sandy Hook Church of Christ. Her love for the Lord and her family are the two things she put above all else. You would often find Kathleen reading her Bible. She was truly the rock of her family. Kathleen always found the good in everyone. She was a true caregiver, helping to care for her brothers, sisters, and family prior to their passing.

Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Lynn Lott; Grandson, Matthew (Terri) Lott; Granddaughter, Stephanie Plunkett; Great Grandsons, Evan, Easton, and Colton Plunkett; Great Granddaughters, Ana, Maci, and Lyla O’Shea; Special nieces and nephews, Sue, Eddie, and Deano Bassham along with many others. She is preceded in death by her twin sister Madleen Cross and three other sisters, Ruby Gilmore, Rebecca Nance, and Virginia Davis and two brothers, Floyd and Harold Bassham.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Services will be led by Eddie Bassham. The family will visit with friends on Monday, May 16, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Lott, Deano Bassham, Tommy Gilmore, Michael Moss, Jimmy Moss, Michael Davis, Stephen Davis, and Buddy Moss.

Jimmy Lott, Ricky Frazier, and the men of the Sandy Hook Church of Christ will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Rita Casteel of Hospice Compassus, the staff of At Home Health Agency, and Dr. Kelly Snyder.
