Larry James Byrd

April 20, 1950 — August 29, 2014

Larry James Byrd, age 64, of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, formerly of Lawrenceburg, passed away suddenly at Maury Regional Medical Center on Friday, August 29, 2014.

Larry was born in Coal Springs, Alabama to the late Paul Alvin Byrd and Mary Lou Tidwell Bailey on April 20, 1950. Larry was a member of the United States Marine Corps and served his country during the Vietnam War. He had a very big heart. Larry loved gardening, flowers, tomato plants, and tending to his garden. He also greatly enjoyed fishing. Larry looked at life equally and set his sights high. Larry worked for many years as a truck driver and he loved driving his Kenworth truck; he always had many “true or untrue” tales of his time on the road. Larry was a hard worker who never gave up and did not let anything stop him. He was a giving person and always wanted to help or accompany someone no matter how much he did not feel like it. Larry was of the Baptist faith.

The family will visit with friends and family on Monday, September 1, 2014 from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee.
