Linda Sigman

Linda Diane Buttner Sigman, age 56, went home to the Lord on Sunday, September 28, 2014, at NHC in Columbia, Tennessee.

Linda was born May 17, 1958, in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Charles Reinhold Buttner and Norma Faye McCrory Buttner. Linda married her husband, Dr. Dennis A. Sigman, on June 19, 1982, and they shared three wonderful children. Linda earned her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology and worked as a Medical Technologist. Most recently, she enjoyed life as a homemaker. In her spare time, Linda could be found reading a good book, assembling a puzzle, or watching a game show. She cherished time spent with her family and friends. Linda was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Columbia, Tennessee and enjoyed singing in the Chancel Choir. Linda will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

The family will receive visitors from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 3rd at First United Methodist Church in Columbia. Services will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. The burial will be held on Saturday October 4th at 10:30 a.m. at Memorial Park in Memphis, Tennessee.

Linda is survived by her husband, Dennis; her daughter, Allison (Keith) Jackson; her sons, Stephen and Bradley Sigman; her grandson, Charles Jackson; her mother, Norma Buttner; her mother-in-law, Doris Sigman; and her beloved pets, Scotty and Athena.

Linda is preceded in death by her late father, Charles Buttner, and her late father-in-law, Ernest Sigman.

Stephen Sigman, Bradley Sigman, Keith Jackson, Ronald Sigman, and Benjamin Sigman will serve as pallbearers. Charles Jackson and the members of the First United Methodist Chancel Choir will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the First United Methodist Church Chancel Choir in Linda’s memory.
