Mary Lois Jones

April 12, 1925 — March 6, 2018

Mary Lois Robinson Jones, age 92, passed from this life March 6, 2018 with family present. A native of Lawrence County, Tennessee, she was born April 12, 1925 to the late William John and Mattie Ella Tays Robinson.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, John William Jones and dear son: John Douglas Jones; brothers: John Calvin Robinson, William Nelson Robinson and sister: Louise Jones West.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her daughters: Gail (Ray) McCain and Connie (Richard) Cathey; daughter in law: Vickie Jones Pratt; grandchildren: Andrea (Jimmy) Peyton, Christy (John) Langford, Mary (Roger) Hay, Ben (Jill) Jones, Brett (Janean) Jones; great grandchildren: Katie and Jonathan Peyton, Lauren, Caroline and Sara Langford, Marissa and Maggie Hay, Jax, Kiptin and Ty Jones and Kennedy and Claire Jones.

She was a member of Mt. Nebo UMC at Sawdust and a 50 year member of the Eastern Star, Lawrenceburg Chapter 103. During WWII she worked at Brookley Field, a repair center for military aircraft near Mobile, Alabama. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who always enjoyed the special family gatherings with all the children. She was an excellent seamstress, still life oil painter and she enjoyed flowers, especially iris and chrysanthemums.

The family will visit with friends on Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 12:00 until 2:00pm at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. A service will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 2:00pm at Williams Funeral Home with the Reverend Jimmy Peyton officiating.

Pallbearers will be Ben Jones, Brett Jones, Jonathan Peyton, John Langford, Roger Hay and Ray McCain. Honorary pallbearers are Richard Cathey and Rickey Massey.
The family would like to express many thanks for the kindness and care given by NHC Columbia nurses, CNAs and staff, Dr. Ben Gardner, Dr. Charles Ball, Shavonne Renee and Sister Christine Penner as well as Mount Pleasant Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Deepest appreciation is offered to her special and loving friend, Rachel Foster and her family.
