Opal Dean Anderson

Opal Dean Anderson, age 87 of Columbia, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at Life Care Center.
Opal was born August 14, 1929, in Courtland, Alabama to the late Porter and Sellie Terry Smith. Opal loved her family, and above all she loved the Lord. She was not ashamed of the Gospel, and “she did not send her kids to church, she took them!” She was a member of First Family in Columbia.
The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. The funeral service for Opal will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, at First Baptist Church in Columbia at 10:00 AM with Pastor Steve Livengood officiating. Burial will follow the service at Polk Memorial Gardens.
Survivors for Mrs. Anderson include: her children: Roland (Linda) Anderson of Spring Hill, Sheron (James) Hobgood of Spring Hill, Kenneth K. (Pam) Anderson, Jr., of Chapel Hill, and Robin Gail (Thomas) Moore of Oxford, MI, and Andrea (Donald) Kline of Hampshire; 9 Grandchildren and 7 Great grandchildren; and 7 brothers and sisters. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Anderson, Sr.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all the staff members at Life Care Center of Columbia.
