Richard “Brent” Knight, age 59, of Spring Hill, Tennessee passed away on March 5, 2018 at Centennial Medical Center.
Brent was born on April 7, 1958 to the late Richard and Avis Knight in Augsberg, Germany; where his father was stationed while serving in the United States Army. He completed his education at Mobile College in Alabama where he gained certification as a Registered Nurse. He married his beloved wife, Sharon “Sherry”, on August 19, 1977. They had two daughters, Kristen and Kimberly and one son, Josh. Brent was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He participated in many extracurricular activities with his family and enjoyed helping coach baseball and their many sports in rec leagues and at Zion Christian Academy. In addition to coaching sports he was an avid sports fan and loved cheering for his favorite teams: Auburn, the Broncos and the Atlanta Braves. In all situations, Brent was known to be giving and was always willing to help others. Brent was a very caring person. After working as a nurse in many settings for 30 plus years, he spent the last 7 years of his career working as an in home infusion nurse where he grew close to many of his patients.
Brent is survived by his wife: Sharon “Sherry” Knight; children: Kristen (Andrew) Rinehart, Joshua (Heather) Knight and Kimberly Knight; grandchildren: Clara and James Gordon Rinehart and Killian Knight; brothers: Blake (Sybil) Knight and Bill (Annie) Knight. He is also survived by two young men who are like his sons: Nathan Elliott and Justin Woten. He was preceded in death by his parents: Richard Dorphus and Avis “Newsome” Knight and in-laws: George and Joann Jones.
The Knight family will visit with friends on Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. A Service will be held at 6:00pm in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home with Jimmy Elliott officiating.
