Sylvia Brand Knaup, age 65, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Signature Healthcare.
Sylvia was born on August 20, 1950 in Salem, Virginia to Cabel Brand and Mairel Pichen Brand. In 1983, she married Gunther Knaup and they were married for thirty-two years. Sylvia received a Bachelor of Science in music with a focus in vocals from Boston Conservatory in Massachusetts. She was a wonderful wife, companion, and friend. Sylvia was a great performer. She was very bright, well read, and educated. She had great taste in clothing. Sylvia was of the Episcopalian faith.
The family will celebrate Sylvia’s life with a memorial service at a later date. She will be inurned with her family in Salem, Virginia.
Sylvia is survived by her husband Gunther Knaup of Nashville, Tennessee and sisters Caroline Mateja and Miriam Kline.
