Walter E. Franks, age 76, of Culleoka, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Walter was born on January 12, 1939 in Fowlerville, Michigan to the late Glenn and Vivian Franks. Walter proudly served his country in the United States Army during the 1960s. He worked for General Motors and became the General Foreman prior to his retirement. After Walter retired from GM, he bought a farm in 1969 and a bar. Walter was a very creative person and created many things as a welder. He had a kind heart and was willing to help anyone.
Walter is survived by his sons Jerry Franks of Culleoka, Tennessee, Terry (Diane) Franks of McKenzie, Tennessee, Dean Franks of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, and Eric Franks of Michigan; stepdaughter Kelly T. Martin and sister Ann of Michigan; granddaughter Christina Franks of Columbia, Tennessee; grandsons Austin Franks of Lewisburg, Tennessee and Justin Franks of Michigan; wife Debbie Franks of Michigan; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Walter was preceded in death by his first wife Joan Maxine Franks.
