William Charles Amos

William Charles Amos, age 90 of Columbia, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017. He was born in Morristown, Tennessee to his late parents Kirt Amos and Dora Wall Clifton Amos.

William was a U.S. Army veteran who served in 1945 during WWII in Italy. He was a member of the VFW Post 422 in Delton, Michigan. He served as the Worshipful Master of the Masonic Lodge in Climax, Michigan. He retired from Michigan State Commerce Department of Liquor Control with 30 years of service. He was also a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church in Columbia, Tennessee. William was a man of many qualities; foremost he was the most loving husband, father, and grandfather.

The funeral service for Mr. Amos will be on Monday, May 22, at 2:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. The family welcomes friends for visitation on Sunday, May 21, from 3:00 until 7:00 PM also at the funeral home.

Pallbearers for the service will be Jason Hughes, Jaxon Hughes, Curtis Amos, Ron Amos, David Little, Rev. Dr. Ronal O. W. Trail Sr. and LTC Keith Wright.

Survivors for William include: his wife, Kathryn JoAnn Amos of 68 years; daughter, Kathy (David) Little; grandson, Ken (Heather) Little; granddaughter, Kerri (Jason) Hughes; great-grandchildren, Ashton Little, Kaylie Little and Jaxon Hughes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Connie Amos.
