Many people say a funeral gives proper closure, but all too often money, time and extenuating circumstances keep people from attending funerals, in turn missing the opportunity to say goodbye.
Understanding that sometimes life lands us in situations beyond our control, Williams Funeral Homes now offers real time services broadcasts. Using high-quality webcasting technology, Williams Funeral Homes captures and broadcasts the funeral or memorial service over a discreet Internet connection as it takes place.
Troops deployed overseas, elderly shut-ins, college students or out-of-state residents - Williams Funeral Homes' Live Broadcast allows friends and family the opportunity to celebrate the life of your loved one, no matter their location.
Each family is provided with a access code for the service of their loved one. If you wish to join a service or need more information, please contact Williams Funeral Homes at (931) 388-2135.
Video Service Broadcasting Instructions
Please read all instructions before trying to view video.
Getting Started:
- Note: The video only works in the web browser Internet Explorer, versions 6 or 8. Please make sure you are using the correct browser and version number when attempting to view the broadcast.
- When clicking on the service broadcast link, you'll need to download some ActiveX / javascript in order to get the video to display properly. Your browser security may be set at too high of a security level to allow you to download this normally. If so, please complete the following instructions:
- Open Internet Explorer and select "Tools" and "Internet Options".
- Select the "Security" tab and select the "Custom Level..." button.
- Under the "ActiveX control and plug-ins" section, select "Prompt" under the "Download
unsigned ActiveX controls" category.
- Select "Prompt" under the "Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe."
- Select "OK" and "Yes" to the warning about changing the settings for this zone. Select "Apply" (if applicable) and "OK" to close the Internet Options window.
- Note: After downloading the ActiveX / javascript to your computer, you can go back to your Security settings of your browser to return the settings to their original state. Once the code has been downloaded one time, it will remain on your computer and allow you to view the broadcasting video from that point forward.
- Once you've downloaded the ActiveX / javascript to your computer, you'll need to contact the funeral home for a Username and Password to be allowed access of the video broadcasted memorial of your loved one.
- The Username and Password given will be enabled for use roughly 5 minutes before the service starts and will end roughly 5 minutes after the service ends. The funeral home will be in charge of activating this feature.
