Angel Francisco Ruiz was born on December 22, 1988, in Chicago, IL to Deborah Kay Hughes & Angel Luis Ruiz, who preceded him in death. Angel came into this world as a big baby boy at 10 lbs., 4 ounces, and 22.5 inches long.
Angel peacefully slipped into eternity on April 20, 2022, after a short battle with cancer.
Angel is survived by his mother, Deborah Hughes; his Sister: LaKeisha (Michael) Jacob; and his son: Aiden L. Ruiz. Angel is also survived by his maternal Nephew: Zachary Daniel James Jacob; his Aunt, Teresa Frith; Brandy Pratt, extended family, like an Aunt; his cousin: LaWanda (James) Cooper; his 2nd cousins: Amanda Smith, DaVonna Cook-Bey, Jada Cooper, James Cooper, Jr., Jazmyn Cooper, Jordyn Cooper, Leesa Pratt, and Brandon Pratt; his 3rd cousins: Emersyn Elizabeth Tarr & Milee Black. Angel is also survived by his paternal Grandmother: Maria DC Garner; his aunt: Annette Garner; his uncles: John T. (Lesa) Garner, Robert Garner, and Thomas Garner; his cousins: Joseph Wallace, John M. Garner, Cari (John) Garner, and 2nd cousins: Brylee Garner & Easton Garner.
Preceding Angel in death were his maternal Grandparents: Febbie Ann Hughes and Billie Gene Hughes; uncle: Emerson Frith, 2nd cousin: Ashley Smith; and paternal Grandfather: Francisco Ruiz.
Angel leaves to mourn a host of relatives and friends including long-time family friend, Lavinia Sereseanu and his godparents Athena & Jean Francois Godet-Calogeras. Also left to mourn are Anthony, Carol, Ulysses, and Jasmine.

Angel attended St. Mary of The Lake Catholic School, Gordon Tech High School where he was also a tutor & Assistant Coach. Angel was baptized and received his first communion at St. Mary of the Lake. Then Angel went on to The Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago in the Le Cordon Bleu Program. Angel received his Bachelor of Science degree, had a Brokers Insurance License, and was an advanced trainer.
Angel worked briefly with his Uncle Emerson at The Metropolitan Club of Chicago before discovering different life passions.
Angel was a people person who loved spending time with his family and friends as they loved spending time with him. He loved running, rollerblading, skateboarding, video games, reading, and art. Angel ran two marathons.
Angel loved to celebrate and dress up for Halloween, he loved to go to the Renaissance Fair with LaKeisha & Lavinia dressed in period costumes. Angel loved all music and dancing. He always enjoyed his Starbucks coffee and 7-11 slushies.
