Annie Ruth Spears

June 13, 1937 — March 1, 2021

Annie Ruth "Granny" Spears, age 83, passed away peacefully Monday, March 1, 2021 at her home in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee surrounded by family. Annie Ruth was born June 13, 1937 in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee to the late Ollie Claude Nance and Cora Jane Boshers Nance.

Annie Ruth was a lifelong resident and fixture of Mount Pleasant, Tennessee. Not long after finishing high school Annie Ruth got married to Russell Roberts and they raised several children together. Her second husband John Spears Jr. worked with her running Arrow Lake for many years. After he passed away Annie Ruth went to work at APCOM for 5 years then as a CNA at several nursing homes in Columbia for over 20 years before she finally retired from private home health care. Annie Ruth was certainly one of a kind. You never had to wonder what was on her mind, because she would be sure to always let you know what she was thinking. In addition to being straightforward she was loving and nurturing. She loved her children dearly and she was a wonderful mother, but her grandchildren were her whole world. Annie Ruth loved spending her free time with her family especially her grandchildren. She also loved watching her humming birds as they darted around the feeders outside, preferably while she enjoyed some Chicken Bites from the Pizza Place in Mount Pleasant. She took great joy in cooking and feeding her family and no one can forget her famous biscuits. Annie Ruth is well loved by and will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

Annie Ruth is survived by her children: Sandy (Mark) Kinslow, Rusty (Donna Wright) Roberts, Jeff (Yolanda Hill) Roberts, Lisa (Carl) Sims, Tracy Roberts, Kelley (Chris) Henson; grandchildren: Marshall (Shelly) Kinslow, Jonathan Kinslow, Miranda Roberts, Heather (Lee Walters) Lanier, Carl Douglas Sims, Tyler Roberts, Curtis Roberts, Dylan Henson, Casey (Brennan Dugger) Henson, Dustin (Savannah McCain) Roberts; great grandchildren: Eli Kinslow, Zoe Kinslow, Kyson Dugger, Kylin Dugger, and Tate Roberts; and numerous nieces and nephews.
