Benjamin Charles Grooms

September 14, 1998 — May 10, 2021

Benjamin Charles Grooms, age 22, passed away Monday, May 10, 2021, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee.

Benjamin Charles Grooms, Ben Charlie, Ben-Jamin’ the son of his loving mother Elizabeth Anne Grooms and grandson to his devoted Cherri “Mimi” Grooms, came into this world September 14, 1998, and changed everything. As Ben grew so did his confidence and personality. His family describes him as a man who was incredibly outgoing, did not know the meaning of the word shy, a free-spirited person with a zest for life, and an infectious smile. He was passionate about whatever he did, including his enthusiasm for landscaping, he was employed at S&S Property Management. He would spend hours drawing embracing his artistic side. He always was excited to get out on the water, whether it was the river or ocean. He enjoyed spending quality time with his brothers. He loved his music and there was no such thing as too loud, you could always hear when Ben Charlie arrived. He loved sports, particularly football, and was a huge Florida Gators fan. He played football from Pop Warner through high school at Mount Pleasant, where he earned the Jeff Daniels Sportsmanship Award. As a child, he enjoyed going to the track to watch his uncle race. It honestly didn’t really matter what activity it was, Ben was always ready to spend time with other people. Ben was baptized at the age of 20 years old and he came to know his Lord and Savior. Ben is gone too soon and leaves behind many heavy hearts because in his time on this earth he blessed everyone around him with his constant smile and larger-than-life personality. Ben is loved and will be missed by all that knew him.
