Betty Benefield Bryant

Mrs. Betty Benefield Bryant, age 87, of Summertown, Tennessee, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, December 19, 2018.

Betty was born on July 27, 1931 to Oscar “O. J” Benefield and Rose Lorene Bates Benefield, in Summertown, Tennessee. Betty was married for nearly fifty years to Alexander Bryant. She became an R. N. later in life and touched many lives with her love and care for them while ill. She was a dedicated member of Mt. Horeb Baptist Church, and lived out her faith every day. One of her friends recalls that even on the worst of days, Miss Betty could lift your spirits and make you feel better. She was very selfless and well-thought of. She was a very active member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her siblings: Kathleen Davenport of Summertown, Andy (Gaynell) Benefield of Summertown, Ed Benefield of Rogersville, Alabama, Jane Davenport of Summertown, Jack (Merriss) Benefield of Summertown, Mack (Mary) Benefield, Ronnie (Cindy) Benefield and Annie Lawrence of Arizona; many beloved nieces and nephews; and her special friend: Jim Gobbell of Lawrenceburg. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister: Nell Bryant.

Mrs. Bryant will be inurned at Masonic Cemetery in Ethridge, Tennessee beside her beloved husband at a later date.
