    Betty Dean "Granny" Green

    June 2, 1932 - January 3, 2022

Betty Dean “Granny” Green, age 89, passed away Monday, January 3, 2022, in Dickson, Tennessee. Betty was born June 2, 1932, to the late Luther Calvin and Annie Kate Sutton Mangrum in Screamer, Tennessee. Betty has been a longtime resident of Mt. Pleasant. Betty had a natural talent for quilting and sewing, making numerous works of art that her family will cherish for years to come. Betty wasn’t much for staying still, she was always on the move finding new things and projects to do. She loved to challenge her mind, you could find her taking things apart and putting them back together, crossword puzzles, she even liked to build birdhouses. When she would take moments for herself, she liked to admire the birds that flew around her home. Above all else, she adored her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. The Green family will receive friends and family on Monday, January 10, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. A funeral service for Ms. Betty will follow at 2:00 PM in the Chapel. Ms. Betty will be taken to her final resting place in the Garden of Mark at Polk Memorial Gardens. Betty is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Winford “Fats” Green; and siblings: Virginia, Brownie, Orville, Luther Jr., Joyce, and Faye. Betty is survived by her children: Deborah Jarman, Gerald Green, Tobie Green, Thomas (Lori) Green, and Susan Brown; 15 grandchildren; and many, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Williams Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences can be given to the family by visiting www.williamsfh.com.
