Betty Adair Haywood Kelley

June 1, 1930 — November 6, 2017

Betty Adair Haywood Kelley, 87, of Mount Pleasant, TN passed away on November 6, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Betty was born on June 1, 1930 to the late Robert and Mary Adair. She was a 1949 graduate of Lewis County High School. Betty has always been a competitive woman, she enjoyed playing basketball in her high school years and found shuffleboard and rook some of her favorite activities in her later years. She even was the Shuffleboard Champion at the Senior Center. Even though she was competitive she was happy whether she won or lost. During the Korean War the Navy relocated Betty and her late husband Curtis Ray Haywood to California where they started their family. Betty was dearly loved by her family and all who knew her. She gave her love to everyone, even before she truly knew them. She loved her Church and her Church family at Mount Joy Presbyterian, where she attended for many years. She was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for her loved ones.

Betty leaves behind her Children: Curtis Haywood Jr., Bobby (Tracey) Haywood and Gerald A. Haywood; Grandchildren: Crystal (Tim) Moore, Scotty Haywood, Zachary Haywood, Lindsay (Brad) Hargrove, Natalie (Ben) Haywood Willard, Jessica Haywood and Younger Haywood as well as 10 Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandchild. She also leaves behind her Sister: Margaret Jean (Herman) King. She was preceded in death by her son: Ronald “Moe” Haywood.

The family will visit with friends on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 4pm until 8pm at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Services will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 1:00pm also at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Mark King officiating. Interment will follow in Bailey Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Scotty Haywood, Tim Moore, Brad Hargrove, Benjamin Willard, Mark Moore, Trever Moore, Zachary Haywood and Younger Haywood. Honorary Pallbearers are friends and neighbors of Mount Joy and West Fork Communities as well as friends at the Lewis County Senior Center.
