Betty Jean Roberts

Betty Jean Roberts, age 70, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022, in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee.

Jean was born on August 15, 1951, to the late Andy Liburn Carpenter and Rebecca Lee Beard Carpenter in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She adored her family wholeheartedly. Any time you would see Jean, she was always in good spirits regardless of what she was doing. She was fond of sewing and left many memorable works of art for her family to treasure.

Jean was a devout Christian and loved reading her bible daily.

Those left to cherish her memory are her three sons: Rickey (Julie) Savage, Timothy Lee Savage, and Michael James Savage; grandchildren: Brianna Crowl, Nicole Crowl, Alex Savage, and Caylea Savage; and several great-grandchildren; siblings: Paul (Shela) Carpenter, Douglas (Linda) Carpenter, David Carpenter, Shirley Chapman, Linda Faye (Vernon) Goodwin, Susie Carpenter; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Ray Roberts; brothers: Donald Ray Carpenter, Liburn Lee Carpenter, Charlie Carpenter, and Harold Carpenter.

The family will receive friends and visitors at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant on Friday, July 15, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 16, 2022, at 10:00 AM, with an hour of visitation prior. To follow, Ms. Jean will be taken to her final resting place at Arlington Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant.

Pallbearers are Rickey Savage, Lee Savage, Michael Savage, Alex Savage, Paul Carpenter, Jonathan Carpenter, and Anthony Chatman.
