Candida Rosa Santiago

Candida Santiago, age 77, of Columbia, passed away on November 28, 2019, at Lifecare Center of Columbia.

Candida was born on July 29, 1942, in Puerto Rico to the Garcia Family. Early in life, Candida moved to New York and became a beautician having various salons throughout the years. Ms. Santiago was infamous later in her life for her candor. Telling family and friends exactly what she thought. Despite her direct sense of honesty, Candida was known for her kindness, often reaching out to help people in need. Candida attended many churches in the area, but she finally found her church home at First Baptist Church here in Columbia,

Candida is survived by her daughter: Veronica Santiago, son: Ricardo Santiago Sr.; grandson: Ricardo Santiago Jr; granddaughter: Alina Elaine Santiago and her great-grandson, Corwin Alexander Santiago.

The family will have a private gathering at a later date to celebrate Candida’s life.
