Charles Albert Witbeck

August 17, 1933 — January 14, 2021

Charles Albert Witbeck was born on August 17, 1933, in the home of his parents, Albert and Margaret Witbeck, in Ferndale, Michigan. For many of his 87 years on this earth, his life was given to the service of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Charles graduated from Lincoln High School in 1952 and began work at Vickers Inc. as a hydraulic engineer. By the time of his retirement, 42 years later, his position was the Manager of Direct Military Sales.
In 1955 he married Elizabeth Ann Lindsley, and this past May they celebrated 65 years of marriage.
He served with the 4th Armored Division at Fort Hood, Texas, and in Oahu, Hawaii as an honor guard in the 25th Infantry Division.
"Chuck" was a championship fastpitch softball pitcher for the Army and a number of commercial league teams. He was also a competitive golfer and bowler.
Chuck was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and served in many lay positions. He was known for his service as a minister of music. He sang solos, conducted choirs, and led congregational singing in churches in Michigan, Honolulu, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
Chuck had an infectious friendship that was an encouragement for those he came in contact with. He was especially known for the love of his family.
He is survived by his wife, Liz: son, Randy (Lynn) Witbeck: daughter, Wendy Witbeck (Steve) Tate.
Grandchildren include: Brandon (Kristen) Witbeck, Matthew Witbeck, and Rachel Witbeck, Amanda Tate (Heath) Trentham, Andrew (Bekah) Tate, and Emily Tate (Ryan) Cornwell.
Chuck was Great Grandpa to 8 with two more on the way.

Memorial Service will be held at Columbia Grace Church of the Nazarene on Sunday the 17th at 2:30.
In lieu of flowers, etc. donations can be made to Starkville Christian School, Starkville, MS.
