Darrell Lee Huskey, age 52, of Mt. Pleasant, TN, passed away at his residence on August 8, 2018.
Darrell was born on September 28, 1965, in Columbia, TN, to the late Kathryn and Tony Huskey.
During his life he served honorably in the United States Army 82nd Airborne Division and later worked for CPS in Franklin.
Darrell spent many years on the rodeo circuit riding bulls, served as a 911 dispatcher for Maury county and volunteered with Easter Seals. He enjoyed porch sitting with Poot aka “Boogieman”.
Darrell is survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins and North Carolina friends. He was preceded in death by his hero, Tony Huskey and loving mother, Kathryn Huskey and his grandparents.
Funeral services for Darrell will be conducted Sunday, August 12, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Gideon Bostwick officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19.
The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 12:00 Noon until service time at 2:00 P.M.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Wright, Derrick Wright, Jeff Weaver, Michael “Wildman” Layne, lifelong friends Chad Craig, Tim “Tbone” Halter and Gideon Bostwick. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Holland, L.D. Cornelius, Julie “Knothead”, J.D. “Jed” and Hailey Wright.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Maury County Veteran’s Service Office, 308 W. 7th Street, Columbia, TN 38401.
