Dennis Dean Pickinpaugh

Dennis “Dean” Pickinpaugh, age 68, of Columbia, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2020, at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Facility following a courageous battle with cancer.

Dean was born July 31, 1951 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Eulalah K. Durst Pickinpaugh and the late Asa Pickinpaugh. He married Vicki Hayes Pickinpaugh on January 22, 2007. Dean was retired from General Motors after nearly 40 years of service. He honorably served in the United States Army, stationed in Korea.

Dean was an avid fisherman. He had a green thumb and loved gardening and landscaping. Dean could be referred to as self-taught in many areas from carpentry, making knives, repairing rods and reels to mechanical and computer repairs. The most enjoyable times of his life were those spent with family and friends, he loved having company and was most definitely the backbone of his family. Dean treated his step-children like his own and was a wonderful father figure.

Survivors include his wife, Vicki Pickinpaugh of Columbia; step-daughters, Elizabeth McMeen Todd and Kristin (Chris) Clark; two step-grandchildren, Bella Clark and Gavin Clark; his mother, Eulalah K. Pickinpaugh; siblings, Linda Baker, Jeanette (Carl) Mize, and Karen (Mike) Griffin; sisters-in-law Susan (Mark) Cox and Linda Luna; brother-in-law, Dennis (Sarah) Hayes along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life for Dean will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, in Blevins Hall at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M.
