Donna Christenberry

February 26, 1948 — May 2, 2021

Donna Lee Christenberry of Columbia, TN passed away from natural causes on Sunday, May 2, 2021, at the age of 73. She was blessed to have her daughter Holly by her side.

Donna was born February 26, 1948, in Holdenville, OK to Alba Lee and Alyne Smith. There is where she met and married the love of her life, Gerald Wayne Christenberry. Their romance took them throughout Oklahoma, settling in Moore to raise their children before traveling to Columbia where they found their forever home. Her heart will be eternally hiking the Natchez Trace with her beloved and his fervent Boxer, Emily Sue.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and granddaughter Hayley (Scott). She is survived by her loving children Holly Christenberry of Columbia, TN, Gia Lowell (spouse – Matthew) of Surprise, AZ, Scott Christenberry (spouse – Shelly) of Holiday, FL, and Jason Christenberry (spouse -Meg) of Murfreesboro, TN; her treasured grandchildren Mark and Lucas (Gia), Houston (Scott), and Beatrice (Jason); her valued siblings Vickey Jones (spouse – Ray) of Holdenville, OK, Alba Lee Smith Jr. (spouse – Sharon) of Cleveland, OK, Sue Brittain (spouse – Jim) of Broken Arrow, OK; numerous nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews of whom she adored, many other cherished relatives and friends, and a precocious little doggie that goes by the name of Tucker.

Donna leaves a legacy of love, kindness, charity, wisdom, grace, and stubbornness that will not be forgotten. She was a collector of turtles – the land kind, not the sea kind, a crafter extraordinaire, a gifted cook, a fervent supporter of her loved ones, a child of God, and a woman who tackled any job given to her with great integrity.

Her request to her children was to be cremated and for there not to be a “big fuss”. To honor her wishes at this time, her children will not be holding a memorial service and not be accepting flowers. If you wish to honor Donna currently, please donate to the American Heart Association.

Holly, Gia, Scott, and Jason wish to thank Williams Funeral Home & Crematory for assisting with the arrangements for their mother. The children will notify family and friends when a memorial will be held and what that will look like. The only thing they know at this moment is that there will be Margarita’s – the regular and virgin kind. So, be prepared to lift a glass to honor the legacy of the woman who will live forever in our hearts.
