Dora Ann Foster Swafford, age 86, resident of Lakeway Terrace, Spring Hill, TN, passed away on April 18, 2021.
Dora was born on September 21, 1934 in Maury County, Tennessee to the late Milton H. Foster, Sr. and Lola Young Foster Moore. She was a graduate of Culleoka High School in 1952 and married Carlton D. Swafford on June 14, 1952. She worked for 15 years as an office manager at WXRQ and retired from Spontex, Inc. Following retirement, she worked at Merle Norman with her daughter, Carla, for 5 years.
She was a member at St. Catherine Catholic Church for 32 years and served as Eucharist Minister after her husband's passing and moved to Spring Hill and became a member of Church of Nativity for a number of years.
She is survived by her son Michael (Terri) Swafford of Lebanon, TN and her daughter Carla Swafford (Darren) Singleton of Spring Hill, TN and 5 granddaughters, 5 grandsons, 3 step-grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Carlton DeVaughn Swafford; son: James Fredrick Swafford, brothers: Joe Foster and Milton Foster, Jr.; sister: Dorothy Foster Adcock and; half-brother: William Richard Foster.
Family is having a private graveside at Polk Memorial Gardens.
