Dylan Ray Regenold

December 27, 2002 — January 26, 2021

Dylan Ray Regenold, age 18, entered into the eternal, loving embrace of our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 26, 2021.

Dylan loved the Lord, believed in the miracle of his salvation, and confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior. He wanted so badly to live his life in a way that honored the Lord. He loved his family and friends fiercely and we are certain he knew we loved him. Oh, how we loved him. The Lord was kind in giving Dylan the gift of writing. We have so many astounding written words from our son over the years that give us a window into his beautiful soul. For that, we are so thankful. Dylan had many dreams and hopes for this life and in God's great mercy he was able to experience many of them. Unfortunately, he suffered a pain that none of us had the ability to understand, not even him. A pain that made this life on earth too much to bear. I wish I could reach into the depth of his mind and help him understand just how valuable his life was, how broken we are in his absence, how we would give anything for him to feel, to truly feel how much he was loved and worth.

We don't understand the ways of the Lord, but we know this to be true: to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord. We find hope in the truth that Dylan is finally at peace. He suffers no more. He knows a love like nothing on this earth could touch. Dylan has received the healing we prayed for so many years. This was not the way we dreamed his healing would come but we know, even in the depths of our sorrow and shattered hearts that God is good and we will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

We stand on the promise of Revelation 21:4 that reminds us that in heaven, there is no more sorrow, suffering, or death. Hope gets the last word.

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. - Revelation 21:4

Hope gets the last word.
