Eugene "Gene" Ray Patterson

Eugene “Gene” Ray Patterson of Columbia, Tennessee passed away on June 22, 2019 at the age of 84.
Gene was born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee on June 24, 1934 to the late Mark J. and Myrtie McCrary Patterson. He and his wife, Patricia, were married for 59 years. He served our country in the United States Air Force and earned an associate’s degree at Nashville State Technology School. He owned and operated Patterson Welding Service while working at Monsanto for 35 years. Gene was a loving husband, father and grandfather with a big heart. He enjoyed his work and never met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Patterson; sons: Nigel E. (Alma) Patterson and Christopher T. Patterson of Columbia, and Noel R. (David) Patterson of Spring Hill, Tennessee; and two grandchildren: Alexia Patterson and Lucas Patterson.
Services will be Thursday, June 27, 2019 at 2:00 PM at William Funeral Home, Columbia, with Bro Bob Vassar officiating. Visitation will be at noon until time of service. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Herbert Griffin, Post 19. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
