Florence Kay Carpenter

Florence “Kay” Carpenter, age 65, of Columbia, Tennessee passed away on July 17. 2018 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Kay was born on October 30, 1952 to the late George and Wanda Morris in Rushville, Indiana. She later married her husband, Keith Carpenter, to whom she was a loving wife and caretaker, of fifty years. She was a family-oriented woman; she cherished her family, talked about them all the time and did everything that she could for them. She was especially fond and proud of her grandchildren, who lovingly called her Gg. Kay loved to go to Goodwill and rummage sales. She had a huge collection of shoes that she loved. In Kay’s younger years she was outgoing and loved to be around people. She loved animals, especially cats, several of whom who miss her greatly. She had a very funny sense of humor and absolutely loved to laugh, she had a great and unique laugh that was contagious to those around her.

Kay is survived by her husband: Keith Carpenter; daughter, Debra and Daniel Crisco; grandchildren, Amanda Rodman and Andrew Longsine, Dustin Rodman and Kayla and Brandon Hayes; great grandchildren, Caden Wagner, Caleb Wagner, Jordan Longsine, Autumn Longsine, Erica Rodman, Joshua Gracyanly, Kailynn Rodman, Tristan Weber, Gavin Weber and Elliott Hayes; siblings, Richard Morris, Jimmy Morris, Lizzy Morris, Penny Morris and George Morris, Jr. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Carolyn Burkes and Kathy Morris Carter; and her great-grandson Lincoln Hayes.

The family will celebrate Kay’s life at a later date with a memorial service at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Arkansas. Following the memorial service, she will be inurned alongside of her mother.
