Gary Lee Markham, age 71, passed away on March 17, 2019 at his home surrounded by loved ones.
Gary was born March 16, 1948 to the late Neal and Shirley Blair Markham in Effingham, Illinois. He was a member of Elks Club and served as Exalted Ruler. He was also a member of Moose Club and Sons of The American Legion. He retired from Telecon Company where he worked as a Construction Manager. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Doris “D.J.” Markham of Columbia; son: Justin (Tracy) Markham of Thompsons Station; grandson: Clayton Markham; granddaughter: Reagan Markham; step grandson: William Hall, III of Scottsdale, Arizona; brother: Ken (Helen) Markham of Columbia, Tennessee; brother-in-law: Gary Henderson of Charleston, West Virginia; sister-in-law: Nancy Henderson of Kalamazoo, Michigan and several nieces and nephews.
The family will have a private celebration at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Cancer Center at Memorials Processing, St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
