Jay Adrian Binkley, age 59, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2019 in Lewisburg.
Jay was born on January 25, 1960, in Kokomo, Indiana, to Richard Coning and Dorthy (Tyner) Coning Binkley. He was proudly adopted by Max Binkley. Jay was proud to have served honorably in the United States Navy. On July 1, 1989, he married the love of his life, Carol Forkum. Throughout their marriage, they remained faithful to this credo, “Love God, Love Each Other”. He was an ordained minister. The order to Jay’s life was Christ, then Family, with those two things being his favorite part of life. His family recalls that his devotion went way beyond being a loving husband and devoted father. He enjoyed family time immensely and always had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved to cook, and work with his hands, and inventing things was also his passion. His brain never rested and he always had a project, even applying for patents for some of his creations. He worked as a project manager for a construction company.
He had a helpful spirit, and never met a stranger. He coached his son’s baseball team, and was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt and fish. He was content with what he and his wife had built with their lives, he was very giving and selfless. However, he wouldn’t have minded becoming a millionaire - LOL.
Cherishing Jay’s memory are his loving wife: Carol Forkum Binkley of Lewisburg; children: James G. (Maribel) of Nashville, Christina Marie Binkley of San Francisco, CA; Phyllis Jean Binkley and Alex Binkley both of Kokomo, Indiana; his magnificent grandchildren: Sandy Yasmin Ochoa and James C. Binkley; siblings: Sherry (Rick) Eltzeroth; Danny Joe (Iffiat) Coning, and Jim (Glenda) Coning; nieces and nephews: Brian (Sally) Eltzeroth, Shelli (Sam) Layman, Robert E. Forkum and Michelle Forkum; a host of great-nieces and nephews, many special friends including Keith Huff, and his faithful canine companions, including Stella and Buck. He was preceded in death by his parents.
