John Anthony Greene

John Anthony Greene, age 54, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, in Franklin, Tennessee.
John was born on June 5, 1967, to the late James and Ima Jean Greene in Columbia, Tennessee.
John was an active participant in many special Olympics and he graduated high school from Columbia Central.
John was an avid reader and a proud owner of the Columbia Public Library card. He was so well versed in history that he could name all the presidents and tell you almost everything about them. John never met a stranger he didn’t like, he was so friendly and caring to all those who knew him. He will be missed by his family and friends he met along the way.
John is preceded in death by his parents; grandmother: Mary Lou Thompson Cocke of Columbia, Tennessee; uncle: Walton K. Thompson of Hohenwald, Tennessee; and aunt: Mary Ann Carter of Nashville, Tennessee.
John is survived by his aunt: Marla Thompson of Brentwood, Tennessee; and cousins: Sherrie Thompson Samide of Franklin, Tennessee, Justin Green of Georgia, and Monica Green of Colorado.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at 12:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee. A graveside service for John will be at 1:00 Pm at Polk Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jeff Kane officiating.
