Larry W. Yates, 78, of Watseka passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN.
Larry was born February 10, 1941 in Watseka, the son of Fred and Grace (Conrad) Yates. He married Marguerite Miller on June 15, 1963 in Ashkum and she preceded him in death on September 26, 2015. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Gloria.
He is survived by one daughter, Kristina (Will) McDonald of Hohenwald, TN; one son, Scott (Julie) Yates of Watseka; four grandchildren, Kevin Williamson Jr., Kenneth McDonald, McKenzie Yates, and Logan Yates; two step-grandchildren, Morgan and Sarah McDonald; and three great grandchildren, Brayden and Joscelyn Williamson and Isabella Yates.
Mr. Yates was of the Catholic faith. He was a farmer and later worked at T&D Metal in Watseka.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. funeral service on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Fr. Michael Powell will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date. Williams Funeral Home in Columbia is in charge of local arrangements.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
