Louise Long

Louise Long, age 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Country Cottage Assisted Living in Lawrenceburg, TN. Louise was born November 18, 1926, in Etheridge, TN to the late A.G. and Agnes Benefield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cleo Long, and her brother, Jimmy, and sister, Edith.

Louise graduated from Etheridge High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She and her husband were active and devoted members of First Baptist Church in Columbia, TN. Louise was an excellent cook, avid game player, and enjoyed painting works of art. Louise cherished her family greatly and has left a legacy of faith, family, and gratitude. She will be deeply missed, but forever remembered in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Ronnie Long of Athens, AL, and Brenda (Bill) Nichols of Lawrenceburg, TN; her five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; and three brothers: Dwight, Donald, Tommy Benefield.

A graveside service will be at Polk Memorial Gardens in the Garden of John on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at 10:00 AM.

The family would like to thank the compassionate and loving staff at Country Cottage Assisted Living for the wonderful years of care, and Unity Hospice Care at the end of her life.

Honorary pallbearers are the staff of Country Cottage Assisted Living, Unity Hospice Care, and longtime friend, C.T. Johnson of Columbia, TN.
