Mary Alice Riggins, age 76, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, August 13, 2022, in Columbia, Tennessee.
Mary was born on March 30, 1946, to the late Joseph Barnes and Lucille Barnes in Columbia, Tennessee.
Mary was such a people person. She never met a stranger; she would always find and make a friend. She also loved to travel. She had been to places such as Hawaii, Germany, and always wanted to make her way to Alaska. She was also very outdoorsy. She enjoyed camping with her family. Reading and crocheting were some of her favorite past time. She was also an avid collector all sorts of Teddy bears. She was a wonderful woman and will be deeply missed by her children and all that knew her.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband: Jerry Riggins; her parents; brother: John Earl Barnes; one grandchild.
Mary is survived by her two children: Jerry Riggins and Vicky Hart; grandchildren: Robert Matthew Riggins (Jenifer) of Spring Hill, TN, Ashley Michelle Randolph (Mark) of Columbia, TN and Jerry Wayne Riggins, Jr; 6 greatgrandchildren; 8 greatgreatgrandchildren; and brothers: William Maury (Christy) Barnes of Rossville, GA, Joseph David (Nora) Barnes of Plains, VA, Henry Clay Barnes of Columbia, TN, and James Jeffery Barnes of Columbia, TN.
A memorial visitation for Mary will held on Monday, August 22, 2022 at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
