Myrtle Rudell Hickman

September 8, 1929 — October 4, 2019

Myrtle Rudell Hickman, a long-time resident of Mt. Pleasant, TN, passed away on October 4, 2019, at NHC in Columbia at the age of 90.

Myrtle was born on September 8, 1929, to the late George and Myrtle Rone in Lewis County. Myrtle married Tommy Hickman in 1949. She spent over 60 years with Tommy raising her family until his passing in 2011. She was a talented seamstress who worked at both Tennessee Knitting Mills and Tam Mills, before retiring.

A service in honor of Myrtle will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2019, beginning at 2:00 pm at Williams Funeral home in Mt. Pleasant. The family will receive friends the same day beginning at 1:00 pm until time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Barnesville Cemetery in Summertown. Jeff Durham will officiate.

Myrtle is survived by her son: Travis Hickman; grandchildren: Evan Hickman, Sarah Hickman, Katie Hickman, Lori Slivensky; sister: Betty Rail. She is also survived by several grandchildren and a special niece, Mirinda Flynt, and special nephew: Jeff Durham. Myrtle is preceded in death by her son David Hickman, daughter: Dianne Keuning: sisters: Hilda Crews, Elizabeth Voorhies, Rena Hardin, Jessie Rone, Nancy Simmons, Susie Rone, Zilda Durham; brothers: Johnnie Rone: George Henry Rone and Joseph Rone.
