Richard Eli Greer, Jr.

Richard Eli Greer, Jr., age 59, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018 following an extending illness.

Richard “Ricky” was born on April 12, 1959, to the Sybil Mae Greer and the late Richard Eli Greer, Sr., in Nashville, Tennessee. Ricky honorably served in the United States Navy. After the Navy, he worked as a construction worker, and was a hard worker. He was a man of great Christian faith. He is remembered as being polite, and having a great wit. He was incredibly funny. He was a wonderful strong brother to his younger siblings. Musically inclined, he taught himself to play the guitar masterfully.

Ricky is survived by his loving mother: Sybil Mae Greer; children: Richard E. (Danielle) Greer, III, Tera (Maka) Johnson, Crystal (Eric) Atchley, Orion Sidwell Greer; nine grandchildren; siblings: Timothy “Timmy” Mark Greer, Jeffrey Maxwell Greer and Nancy Mae Greer Cheek; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Ricky will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens in Nashville, at 1:00 p.m. with Dave Gerber officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Navy. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
