Riley Bill McWilliams passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021.

On June 25, 1930, Riley was born to the late Hugh and Meddie McWilliams. He was a hog farmer, and his hogs were his best friends. He was also a logger. Everyone in Mt. Pleasant knew him as the “Tomato Man” because of his amazing tomatoes. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Riley was preceded in death by his: parents, Hugh and Meddie McWilliams; wife, Willie Mae McWilliams; and siblings: Myrtle Chatman, Dorothy Carr, Ocie Workman, Blanche Whitehead, Buck McWilliams, Elzo McWilliams, Frank McWilliams and Jay McWilliams.

Riley is survived by his: two daughters, Pam (Mike) Whitley and Pat (Stan) Eastep; three grandchildren: Lauren (Taylor) Eastep, Dewayne “Bubba” (Morgan) Eastep and Haley Eastep; seven great-grandchildren: Oakley Eastep, Laila Powell, Adisyn Hendley, Keaton Wiley, Murphy Eastep, WillieMae Eastep and Miller Eastep; and a special niece, Jane Kennedy.

A graveside service for Riley will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021, at 3:30 pm at Polk Memorial Mausoleum with David Kersey officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, October 21, 2021, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.

Pallbearers for the service will be: Mike Whitley, Stan Eastep, Oakley Eastep, Ronnie Marshall, David Gray, Ricky Grooms, Donald Sharp and Randy Workman.

Honorary pallbearers include all the staff at Mt. Pleasant Health and Rehab.
