Robert Melvin Downey, age 64, passed away on April 11, 2021, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN.
Robert was born on July 11, 1956, in Union City, TN to the late Frederick and Nona Helms Downey.
If you saw Robert, you always knew you were in for a good time. Robert was the life of the party, always joining in on the fun wherever he would go. Robert enjoyed the little things in life, he would sit back on the porch and enjoyed plucking away at his guitar and enjoy nature. He would lullaby his grandchildren to sleep with his musical talent. Robert cherished his family dearly, and will be so deeply missed.
Robert is survived by children: Bobby Downey, Joanna (Danny) Smith, Jamie Downey, Nona Elizabeth, Crystal Gales, Kristie Downey; siblings: Harland Downey, Frederick Downey, Jr., Williams Downey, Timothy Downey, Linda Zambrano, Nona Mae Fleming; and several nieces and nephews; and many, many grandchildren.
