Ronald Maxwell Ingram

Ronald Maxwell Ingram, a resident of Culleoka, TN, peacefully passed from this life to the next, at his home, surrounded by his family, on December 20, 2019, at the age of 88. He was born on January 24, 1931, in the Culleoka community, the tenth of eleven children born to Nathan M. and Nellie Smith Ingram.

Ronald graduated from Columbia Central High School in 1950 and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he served until 1954. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Columbia where he began a life long career as a construction carpenter. On February 4, 1956, he married Sarah Ruth Mixon, and in 1957 he obeyed the Gospel and was baptized into Christ. In 1958 Ronnie and Ruth moved to Florida where they had two children, Dale and Leah. They returned to Culleoka in 1976 and in 1978 Ronnie went to work at Columbia State Community College as the maintenance carpenter. He loved his time there roaming the campus on his three-wheeler with the tool box on the back, whistling everywhere he went. After retiring in 1996, Ronnie and Ruth enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren, taking road trips on their Goldwing Aspencade, and working around their home in Culleoka. He stayed very active, always working on one project or another, up until just a couple of months before his passing. All who knew him were impressed by his skill as a carpenter, his integrity, and his love for God and his family.

Having outlived all of his siblings, Ronald is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sarah Ruth Ingram; son Dale and daughter-in-law Christy Spivey Ingram, and daughter Leah Ingram-Bates; granddaughters Lindsey (Stephen) Ingram Hanna, Kelly Ingram Scott, and Marah Bates; great-grandchildren Skylar Scott, Eli Scott and Maxwell Hanna; numerous nieces and nephews.

No funeral service will be held, as was his wish, but a gathering for family and friends will be held at a later date in order to remember his life and how he touched us all. The family asks that in lieu of flowers cards be sent containing personal anecdotes and remembrances, or that individuals leave comments on the Williams Funeral Home website.
