Aldene Williams

March 3, 1933 — February 3, 2022

Aldene Joyce Patterson Williams (MeMaw) passed peacefully on Thursday, February 3, 2022, while at Brookdale Assisted Living in Columbia Tennessee. She was 88 years old.
Aldene was born on March 3, 1933 (or 3/3/33 as she often referred to it) to Marshall and Grace Patterson in Lewisburg (Verona) Tennessee. She received her teaching degree from Martin Methodist College and shortly thereafter moved to Mt Pleasant to begin her teaching career in 1954. There she met her husband, Harry Webb Williams (DeDad) who she married after six short weeks of dating. They were married for 40 years and had 3 children, Joyce, Jane, and Webb. She later earned her Master’s Degree in teaching at MTSU.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church since 1954 where she could often be found on the 3rd pew singing energetically while handing out Werther’s candies. She was very active teaching Sunday School and working in the Lorena Bourne Circle. Aldene was member of the ADK Teaching Sorority and the Maury County Retired Teachers Association. She attended any and all of her grandchildren’s activities, often with a large pack of bubble gum for the team members. She was a lifelong fan of the Atlanta Braves. She will be remembered for her infectious smile and her Tea Rose perfume. Many people enjoyed her summer story hour at the Mt. Pleasant Public Library.
She is proceeded in death by her husband Harry Williams, her daughter Jane Brawner, her granddaughter Amy Brawner, and brother Marshall Patterson.
Aldene is survived by her children Joyce (Wayne) Dugger, Webb (Lori) Williams and son-in-law Tony Brawner; her sister-in-law Rebecca Patterson; grandchildren; Ray (Tiffany) Brawner, Emily (Daniel) Rettinger, Anna (Taylor) Pool, Daniel (Priscilla) Williams, Laura (Timothy) Wade, Lance (Joey Kathryn) Williams, and Suzanne (Blake) Rochelle; great-grandchildren; Sophie Rettinger, Celia Rettinger, Patterson Pool, Penelope Pool, Colton Wade, Sadie Wade, Simon Wade, Amy Carson Brawner, Jancin Brawner, Isaac Brawner, Madison Williams, Robert Williams, Nora Williams, Emma Williams, and Leah Williams. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
