Alice Kay Campbell Dukes passed from this life on Sunday, January 4, 2026, following a brief illness. Kay entered this life as the youngest of four girls born to the late Ramon Dudley Greene Campbell, and the late Cleo McDonald Campbell. She was born and lived most of her life in Lawrence County, Tennessee.
She retired from working as a caseworker for South Central Human Resources. Kay loved to have fun. She had an infectious laugh that you couldn’t help joining. She was the life of the party, often a party she was throwing. She thrived in spite of the pain of losing one of her sisters, Mary Catherine Campbell, age 14, and the near death of another, Wanda Gale Campbell Mobbs, aged 18, in the same wreck. Kay was 11 when this tragedy happened. In spite of this trauma, she persevered.
She was fiercely loyal to those she loved. She will be missed dearly by family and friends alike.
Kay is survived by her son David Johnathan, Gladney (Sarah) of Flint, Michigan, her sister Elizabeth Annette Campbell Bonner of Tullahoma, Tennessee, her nieces Cathy Mobbs Salazar of Nashville, Tennessee, and Sharon Bonner Austell (Rob) of Martin, Tennessee, her nephews Jeffrey Bonner (Cathie) of Pell City Alabama, and Michael Bonner (Tina) of Tullahoma, Tennessee, and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by many family members and friends. The world will always be a little less bright without her presence.
Her life will be celebrated in a memorial service at Ethridge United Methodist Church on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 1 PM and the family will greet at a reception to follow in the fellowship hall.
Williams Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences can be given to the family at williamsfh.com.
