Anita Griffin, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and beloved great-grandmother, passed away on March 5, 2025. She leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and countless cherished memories.
Anita is survived by her husband, Dudley Griffin; her daughter, Erica Benderman and her husband Jeff Benderman; her granddaughter, Sara Lovelace, and her husband, Kent Simmons; Brianna Gillispie, Bethany Griffin. Her grandsons, Joshua Hall, Zachariah Griffin. Her treasured great-grandchildren—Jaylynn Brooks, Jordan Brooks, Zavion Frierson, Ka'mya Frierson, , David Hall, Tesearah Griffin, Colton Griffin, and Wesley Griffin. She was preceded in death by parents, John and Mildred Sutliff Worlow. Her son, Shannon Griffin; her sister, Karen Worlow; and her brother, Bruce Worlow.
A true homemaker at heart, Anita found immense joy in caring for her family. She had a remarkable talent for sewing and was known for her exquisite quilting. Her kitchen was always filled with warmth, the aroma of home-cooked meals, and, most famously, her delicious peach cobbler. She also had a deep love for flowers, spending countless hours tending to her garden with patience and care.
Anita had a storyteller’s gift, captivating her loved ones with tales rich in humor and heart. She possessed a warm and inviting personality, making everyone around her feel at home. She lived life fully, enjoying the open road on her Harley-Davidson, embracing the beauty of the outdoors, and making every moment count.
Though she will be deeply missed, Anita’s love, wisdom, and stories will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her family finds comfort in the memories she leaves behind and the example of love and strength she set for them all.
