It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Ann Biddy, age 86, on November 18, 2024, at her home in Columbia, Tennessee. Barbara was born on July 5, 1938, to the late Leland Williams and Lillian Ferguson, and she lived a life filled with warmth, kindness, and a deep commitment to her family, friends, and community.
Barbara’s heart was as big as her spirit, and she truly never met a stranger. A beloved member of her community, Barbara made it her mission to know everyone she could and to form meaningful relationships that lasted a lifetime. Her home was always open to those in need, and her genuine care for others was a hallmark of her life.
Barbara’s greatest joy was her beautiful marriage to her best friend, Roy Biddy, of Cleveland, TN. They were united in love on December 24, 1983, and their 45 year bond was an inspiration to all who knew them. Together, they created a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
Barbara was the living embodiment of Snow White, with a love for all living creatures. Her compassion for animals knew no bounds, and she was known for her kind care of both domestic pets and wild animals alike. Along with Roy, she shared her home with her beloved cats, Bo and Kitty Kitty, all of whom were treated as part of the family, and later, Junior and Sissy, provided Barbara immense comfort when she needed it most.
Barbara was also a passionate gardener, and her love for plants was evident in her vibrant garden, which she tended to with the same care and love she gave to everyone around her. She found peace and fulfillment in the beauty of nature, and her home was a true reflection of her nurturing spirit.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, Roy Biddy; son, Derrick (Penny) Griggs; daughter, LeeSa (Scotty) Lyons; sister, Nancy Ytzen. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Shane (Crystal), Kayla (Joe), Joe (Rachel), Jewelya, Jace, and Luke; her great-grandchildren, Brayden, Kayleigh, Haynes, Harvest Rose, Vanessa, J.J., Elena, and Cristofer. Her memory will be cherished by her special-special friends, Beverly and Jennifer, who brought her so much joy and companionship throughout the years, as well as special caregiver, Terry.
In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her siblings, Gary Williams, Norris Williams, Linda Adkins, and Sandra Greenlee.
Barbara A. Biddy’s legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to her family and community will never be forgotten. She was a rare soul, full of grace and compassion, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
