Barbara Kobiela

Barbara Ann Kobiela Wiskowski, age 90, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Mount Pleasant Health and Rehab. Born on December 24, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan, Barbara was the beloved youngest child of the late Antoinette and Jan Kobiela. She was preceded in death by her four brothers and one sister.

Barbara was married to Edward Wiskowski for 38 wonderful years. She was a faithful member of Hampshire Baptist Church and lived a life marked by devotion to family, community, and creativity. She had a deep love for animals and a remarkable talent for crafts, crocheting, knitting, baking, and cake decorating. She also found great joy in attending garage sales and auctions.

Active in her community, Barbara served for many years with the Michigan Civitans and later with the Mount Pleasant Civitan Club, where she proudly served as president from 2005 to 2006. She was also a proud graduate of the Schoolcraft College Culinary Arts Program, using her skills to bless those around her.

Barbara’s legacy lives on through her loving children: Debbie (Ray) Chapman, Linda (Kevin) Brenner, Tom Wiskowski (Phil Robinson), and Karen Hopkins; her seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will include Randy Chapman, Eric Chapman, Jake Chapman, Brian Chapman, Ross Chapman, Will Chapman, Harley Brenner, and Zachary Brenner.

A service celebrating Barbara’s life will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the start of the service. Barbara will be laid to rest at Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbia, Tennessee.

Barbara will be remembered for her warm heart, boundless creativity, and her unwavering love for her family and community.
