IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bessie Ermine
Irelan
April 24, 1951 – March 6, 2026
Bessie Irelan, age 74, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026. She was born on April 24, 1951, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, to the late Major Mobbs and Mable Ingram Mobbs.
Bessie grew up in Lawrenceburg alongside her siblings, surrounded by family and the natural beauty of southern Tennessee that she would come to love throughout her life. From an early age she found peace and happiness outdoors, something that remained a constant part of who she was. She especially loved fishing at VFW Lake in Lawrenceburg, spending quiet hours by the water with a line in the lake and stories to share. She also enjoyed hunting for arrowheads, foraging for mushrooms, and searching the hills and woods for ginseng; simple adventures that brought her great joy and many treasured memories.
Bessie had a warm and giving heart and was known for always being there when someone needed her. Whether it was offering a helping hand, sharing a laugh, or simply listening, she had a way of making people feel cared for and welcome. Her home and her heart were always open to family and friends alike.
Above all else, Bessie loved her family. They were the center of her world and her greatest pride. She cherished every moment spent with them, especially with her grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness. Watching them grow and celebrating their lives was one of her greatest joys.
Bessie is survived by her loving husband, Billy Irelan; her children, Melisa (Jason) Harris and Jonas (Barbara) Miller; and her beloved grandchildren, Jessica Harris, Abby Harris, Mackinley Harris, Alan Miller, Matthew Miller, and Lily Miller.
She is also survived by her siblings, Sarah (Cecil) Brown, Randy (Betty) Mobbs, and Sherry Beck; her special nieces, Michelle Moore and Serena Mashburn; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Bessie was preceded in death by her parents, Major Mobbs and Mable Ingram Mobbs, and her sisters, Ann Knowis, Brenda Williams, and Edna Jackson.
Williams Funeral Home is assisting the family during this time.
